Axisearch.com Removal Tips (Uninstall Axisearch.com)
Axisearch.com is a browser hijacker that has been linked to a potentially unwanted program called SocialDownloadr Toolbar. However, it may enter your PC along with other unwanted apps as well.
Once inside, the hijacker alters your browser settings and starts causing other disruptions like flooding you with ads, rerouting you to unknown domains, slowing down your Internet connection, and more. It does not matter which browser you use, because the hijacker affects all of them. You should not tolerate any of the inconveniences that it creates. We suggest that you terminate Axisearch.com as soon as you can.
How does Axisearch.com work?
The main symptom of Axisearch.com is that it modifies your browser preferences. It can change your home page and default search provider. This is done in order to show you results that contain sponsored links. The hijacker will use other tactics to expose you to commercial data as well. It will insert ads into your visited pages and redirect you to its sponsor sites at random. These activities will slow down your browsing. Worse than that, however, they will also expose you to unreliable content. If you click on a fake advert, you will risk infecting your PC with potentially unwanted or even malicious programs. You may also be exposed to other scams aimed at tricking you into sharing your personal details or wasting your money.
Another symptom often associated with the hijacker is tracking cookies. Tracking cookies are used to collect information about your online behavior. They record your visited pages, clicked ads, searched terms, and more. This data is used for marketing purposes like creating targeted ads. It can be also sold to third parties. Although this data is not personally-identifiable, that still does not mean that you should share it with unknown sources. If you want to improve your online security level, you should delete Axisearch.com without further delay.
How to remove Axisearch.com?
Luckily, the hijacker is not a malicious threat, so you can delete Axisearch.com manually. This can be done by uninstalling the application with which the hijacker has entered your system and fixing your web browsers. If you are not sure how to complete these tasks, you can use the instructions presented in the manual Axisearch.com removal guide below.
