What is Deadly Ransomware?
Deadly Ransomware is ransomware type of virus that encrypts your files and then asks for money to restore them. Users who open spam email attachments or have a habit of clicking on ads might find themselves dealing with this nasty virus. When it infects a computer, it uses the AES-256 encryption algorithm, which means that the hackers store the decryption key in a remote server they control.
Since you don’t have access to it, they will try to sell you the key. And Deadly Ransomware creators claim all this is ‘for a good purpose’. Deadly Ransomware is a very new ransomware so there is no free decryption key developed by malware specialists. Nevertheless, we do not recommend you pay the hackers anything. They could just take your money and not give you anything, as most ransomware developers do. If you have backup, you can restore your files from there. But first, you need to remove Deadly Ransomware from your computer.
How did I get infected with Deadly File Virus?
Spam emails is a very popular ransomware spread method. Hackers attach infected files to emails and send it to users. These kinds of emails usually end up in the spam email folder and contain very official looking text. Hackers might claim to be from a legit company or a government organization saying that for whatever reason you need to open the attachment. If you do, the ransomware downloads into your computer and starts encrypting your files. The same might happen if you click on infected ads. We suggest you not open spam emails at all as they end up there for a reason, and not click on random ads. A click of a button is all it takes for your files to be encrypted.
What does Deadly File Virus do?
When it downloads onto your computer, Deadly File Virus will encrypt your files using the AES-256 algorithm. It creates two keys, a public and a private key. The public one is used for encryption, the private – for decryption. The private key is stored in a remote server and since you can’t access it, the hackers will try to sell it to you. When the encryption process is complete, victims will find a ransom note. It explains what has happened and asks you to pay to restore files. It asks victims to pay $500. While it could be very tempting to pay, we suggest you don’t. You can invest that money elsewhere because there is no guarantee that you will get the decryption key. That’s what usually happens with ransomware, hackers take the money and give nothing in return. If you have back up, delete Deadly Ransomware and then restore the files.
