DNSAPI.dll Removal Instructions (Uninstall DNSAPI.dll)

DNSAPI.dll is a Windows dynamic link library file that is used to run certain programs and browser extensions. It is stored in C:\Windows\System32 folder and its size is about 150 bytes. If your DNSAPI.dll file is corrupted, it means that you have an advertising-supported application on your PC. Such adware as Groover, Shopperz, Jabuticaba, Daugava, and some others are known to replace this file. This makes their removal that much more difficult.

The main purpose of ad-supported programs is to generate web traffic by flooding you with various commercials. These programs do not benefit you in any way. You should terminate DNSAPI.dll without delay.

DNSAPI.dll-How does DNSAPI.dll adware work?

As soon as the ad-supported program enters your computer, it will start inserting commercials into your visited pages. You will be presented with pop-ups, banners, hyperlinks, and other ads no matter which site you open. The adverts will appear in all browsers as the adware is usually compatible with all major web browsers including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. The problem with these adverts is that not all of them are safe. If you click on a fake advert, you will get redirected to a corrupted page, where you could infect your system with malware or suffer from a different kind of a virtual scam. You should stay away from all ads that are presented to you until you delete DNSAPI.dll.

All unwanted applications mentioned above are distributed using the bundling method. This means that you can acquire them by accident. Adware gets attached to free third party software and is presented in the installation wizard as an additional offer. If you do not notice and decline this offer, you allow the application to get installed without even realizing it. Keep in mind that the adware may not be the only program that has entered your system as freeware bundles often contain browser hijackers, keyloggers, Trojans, and other dangerous components. It would be best to avoid similar situations in the future. You can do that by choosing Advanced installation mode and deselecting all unknown programs that are offered to you. As for now, we suggest that you focus on DNSAPI.dll removal.
