Remove GNL Locker

GNL Locker Removal Tips

GNL Locker is a malicious parasite that is used by cyber criminals to make profit off of unsuspecting computer users. It first appeared online in 2015 and since then has been modified a number of times. The distribution method of the parasite, however, remains the same. It infiltrates systems by using such deceptive tactics as spam emails with malicious attachment, fake ads, corrupted links, unreliable websites, and more. Once inside, it encrypts your data, making it impossible for you to access it.

The malware then demands that you pay a specific sum of money in order to retrieve your files. It is clear that when it comes to cyber crooks there are no guarantees. That is why we do not recommend wasting your money by paying the so-called ransom. What you should do instead is to remove GNL Locker as soon as possible.

GNL Locker-How does GNL Locker work?

GNL Locker is similar to other members of this malware group including such ransomware as Cryptowall, Critroni, Cryptolocker, and others. It can easily slither into your PC without your notice, especially if you do not have a powerful anti-malware tool installed. Once it gets access to your system, it starts the encryption process, which affects different types of files including your documents, videos, photos, presentations, databases, and more. After the malign program is done corrupting your files, it presents you with a ransom note, which explains how you can recover you data.

The ransom note states that you can get your files back only by purchasing the decryption key. The price of the key may vary depending on the version of the harmful application. It has been known to range from $24 to $200. The hackers demand that you pay the money until a certain deadline, usually 96 hours. You may also be given a chance to have 5 of your files decrypted for free. As we have already mentioned, there is no reason why you should trust cyber criminals to follow through on their promises. If you do not wish to waste your money, you should delete GNL Locker from your computer right away. Once you do that, you will be able to try other ways of recovering your files.

How to remove GNL Locker?

There is no question that you should terminate GNL Locker without further delay and the only way to do that is by implementing a powerful anti-malware utility. If you download the anti-malware tool from our page, it will scan your system and detect all malicious components. It will then uninstall GNL Locker along with other harmful files and programs present on your PC. In addition to GNL Locker removal, the security software will also help you make sure that your computer stays safeguarded from similar threats in the future by providing it with real-time online protection.

After you delete GNL Locker, you will be able to try restoring your data. There are several methods you can choose from. If you have your files backed up, you should have no trouble recovering them. If not, you can download one of the file-decryption tools available online like Photorec, R-Studio, or similar. In case they do not work either, you can try using Windows Shadow Volume Copies feature or a program called ShadowExplorer.
