What is GubedZL.dll?

GubedZL.dll is a file you will find on your computer if a browser hijacker is present on your computer. It basically helps the hijacker perform as it should. Browser hijackers are not malicious but they are highly irritating. They enter computers using the bundling method, which means that the hijacker was attached to some sort of free software. You, essentially, allowed the hijacker to install yourself. It will alter your browser’s settings and attempt to redirect you to sponsored web pages so that it could generate pay-per-click revenue for those sites. You will be taken to all sorts of weird websites. What you should be careful of when dealing with hijackers is encountering malware. While the hijacker itself is not dangerous, it could lead you to malicious sites and you might end up with a malicious virus. We suggest you remove GubedZL.dll.

How does GubedZL.dll spread?

You have GubedZL.dll on your computer because you allowed a browser hijacker to install. It was attached to free software in a way that allowed it to install along side it. The only way to prevent the hijacker from installing would be to deselect it during the freeware installation process. You can do that by choosing Advanced settings, and deselecting the added items. Just uncheck the boxes and you will be able to proceed with the software installation. Do not chose Default and rush through the installation process. If you do, you will end up will all sorts of added items and will have to delete GubedZL.dll.

How does GubedZL.dll work?

When the hijacker installs onto your computer, your browser’s settings will be changed. Usually browser hijackers can affect all major browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. The setting changes come out of the blue and users are not asked to permit them. So if a hijacker is on your computer, when you open your browser, you will suddenly be redirected to a completely different homepage. This will happen until you remove GubedZL.dll. And you cannot change the settings back, unless you first delete GubedZL.dll. Browser hijackers aim to make pay-per-click revenue and will redirect you to all sorts of sponsored pages. It will do that by providing you with a weird search engine that will fill results with those sponsored pages. You need to be careful not to click on anything that seems even remotely suspicious. You might be led to questionable pages and end up running into malware. And malware is a much more serious issue compared to GubedZL.dll. We suggest you uninstall GubedZL.dll immediately.
