RSA-4096 Virus Removal Instructions
RSA-4096 Virus is a ransomware infection that is aimed at extorting your money. The reason “RSA-4096″ is used to refer to this malicious program is because after it infiltrates your system, it employs the RSA-4096 encryption to corrupt your data files.
It is known that this encryption is used by the TeslaCrypt ransomware, however, it may be used by other programs of the same type as well. When this parasite enters your computer, it purposefully encrypts your data to later demand that you pay a ransom for it. That is not something you should even consider. We advise that you terminate RSA-4096 Virus as soon as you possibly can.
How does RSA-4096 Virus work?
RSA-4096 Virus starts encrypting your documents, photos, presentations, videos, and other data as soon as it slithers into your PC. It also targets game files including games like World of Warcraft, MineCraft, Steam, World of Tanks, StarCraft, and some others. Once this malicious process is complete, the ransomware changes your desktop background and creates a file that contains instructions on how to decrypt your files. This file could be named “help to decrypt your files”, “how to recover your data”, or similar. The instructions will state that you must pay a set amount of money (usually $500) in Bitcoins until a certain deadline (24, 48, or 72 hours). You will also be provided with a link to a TOR payment portal, and a button allowing you to enter the decryption key.
It is clear that you cannot trust cyber criminals. Even if you pay them, there are no guarantees that they will actually follow through on their promises. It is not very wise to waste your money like that. Especially when you can try recovering your data in other ways. If you have your files backed up, you will not have any problems restoring them. If not, you may want to try using the Shadow Explorer or one of the file-decryption applications that you can find online. Before you do that, however, you need to delete RSA-4096 Virus.
