About this infection
S3.amazonaws.com is an endpoint for Amazon Web Service’s cloud file storage product. Many sites and apps use the services so that domain itself is definitely not malicious. However, if you are constantly redirected to it, someone could be taking advantage of the network to deliver highly dubious content to you.
Not you specifically, but anyone who happens to end up on the page. The redirects could be caused by an adware infection which could be inhabiting your computer. If you notice any other symptoms, such as an increase in ads, random pop-ups, you are definitely dealing with adware. You could have picked up an infection when you were installing freeware. Adware is usually attached to free programs as an additional offer, and unless you deselect it, it will be allowed to install alongside. It’s not the most serious infection out there but it can become annoying rather quickly, especially if you are regularly redirected.
Malicious files could be hosted on the cloud network, so there is a possibility that you could obtain something much more malicious if you get redirected to that page. Though your browser or your anti-malware will likely block access to the site, if it’s considered to be malicious. Nevertheless, you should not be allowing the adware to remain. So delete S3.amazonaws.com adware.
What does it do?
If you are dealing with adware, you probably obtained it via freeware. It was likely attached to some program you were installing, and it managed to sneak past you. This happens pretty often because users are not used to paying attention to how they install programs. And if you want to prevent unwanted installations, you will have to start being more attentive. Read the information provided during the process and make sure you choose Advanced or Custom settings. Those settings make added offers visible, and if there is something, you will be able to deselect it/them. You ought to deselect all of them as we doubt you will find anything useful. And since they tried to sneak past you, you shouldn’t grant them permission to install anyway.
While the service is completely legitimate and many people use it, some may take advantage of it to spread malware. If you get redirected to the domain, your Google Chrome browser or anti-malware software might block access to it. The page you are redirected to may lead to serious malware, which is why it’s being blocked. If this is constantly happening, it may get annoying pretty quickly. Don’t try to access the site, and just remove S3.amazonaws.com. And if you do enter the site, don’t allow anything to download.
You may need to obtain anti-spyware software in order to uninstall S3.amazonaws.com adware. If you are not experienced when it comes to computers, it may be best to trust the security program to take care of the issue. If you want to stick to manual elimination, you are welcome to use the below provided instructions to help you. After elimination, the pop-ups should stop. If they do not, it’s possible you missed something and the infection was able to recover itself.
