The pop-up claims that a suspicious connection was trying to access your logins, and that you need to call the provided number in order to solve the issue. If you did call them, you would be connected to fake tech-support who would try to trick you into buying useless software for a big sum of money. It’s not a real alert so there is no need to call anyone. If you delete Suspicious Connection Scam adware, the pop-ups should disappear.

Why are the pop-ups appearing?

It’s most likely caused by an adware infection. You can get your computer infected by not paying attention to how you install programs. Adware is usually added to freeware as an extra offer, and if you do not want it, you need to deselect it. In order to do this, choose Advanced or Custom settings during installation, and uncheck all the offers that appear. If you opt for Default settings, no items will become visible, and you will be stuck having to remove Suspicious Connection Scam or similar over and over again.

The main intention behind this tech-support scam is to either make money by selling you overpriced software, or to infect your computer with serious malware by remotely connecting to it. It relies on less-computer savvy people who do not know that Microsoft would never warn about suspicious activity by showing a pop-up on your browser, nor would it ever ask you to call them. It will pop-up suddenly, and claim that a suspicious connection was attempting to access your logins, such as banking details. It claims that your accounts may be suspended until you take action, and that your personal data has been leaked. You are also advised to not shutdown or restart the computer as it could lead to data loss or operating system failure. The solution they propose if you calling the provided number. The things it’s warning you about are completely untrue, unless you have a completely unrelated infection, there is nothing wrong with your computer. And if you did dial the number, you would be connected to fake tech-support who may try to get remote access to your computer to install malware. Just uninstall Suspicious Connection Scam adware.
