How does Webalta.ru work?
After the hijacker gets installed, it alters your browser settings such as home page and default search engine. Your new tab may be modified as well. Your new home page, Webalta.ru, contains lots of suspicious ads and links. Some of them are clearly fake, which is why we urge you to stay away from all commercial content. You will also see various article headlines divided into News, Auto, Business, Games, Sport, and Science categories, quick access buttons to popular sites like YouTube, Facebook, VK, Yandex, and more. The search engine that appears in the very center of the page will not work properly. You will not be able to search the Web efficiently and you will be presented with unreliable adverts and sponsored links.
It is clear that the website cannot be trusted. All it does is provide you with commercial data, most of which is fake. If you click on fake adverts, you will get redirected to corrupted pages. This could result in malware infections and other unwanted consequences. You should not let that happen.
