CalendarSpark Removal

What is this threat?

CalendarSpark is a browser add-on, classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and a browser hijacker. It provides calendar related services but also hijacks your browser and forces you to use a dubious search engine. In addition to this, it can enter your computer without permission. It’s available for download in browser stores but it is also attached to some freeware as an extra offer. We will explain how to avoid these kinds of installations in the below paragraphs. PUPs are not serious threats but they are annoying to deal with. Mainly because they perform unwanted changes and try to redirect you to sponsored sites, as that is how they make money. While by itself it’s not really dangerous, it may be able to redirect you to malicious sites where malware could be waiting for you. We strongly recommend you delete CalendarSpark so that you can avoid possibly serious infections.

Why remove CalendarSpark?

First of all, you need to understand how you managed to obtain the infection. It was attached to freeware as an extra offer and you needed to deselect it to prevent installation. To be able to do this, access Advanced or Custom settings. If there is anything added, it will show there. If you see something, make sure you deselect it/them. Do not allow any kind of extra offer to slip past because they are hidden there for a reason. You should also avoid using Default settings because you will not be able to deselect anything, which means everything will install. You could have also obtained it in legitimate ways, but whichever way you go it, we recommend you uninstall CalendarSpark.

Once the PUP installs, it will make changes to your browsers, to Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, and set its promoted website as your homepage, new tabs and search engine. Your new homepage provides calendar related services but there are more reliable options out there. Delete CalendarSpark. You will have a new search engine set as default but using it is not encouraged. It will insert sponsored websites among the legitimate ones so that it could redirect you. Browser hijackers aim to redirect users because they generate income this way. You, on the other hand, get nothing from this. The thing about hijackers is that they do not ensure that the websites you end up on are safe. They could have malware lurking somewhere and you could end up downloading it. So if you want to ensure you are safe, remove CalendarSpark.

CalendarSpark removal

We would recommend obtaining anti-spyware software and having it take care of CalendarSpark removal because the program would do everything for you. If you attempt to uninstall CalendarSpark manually, you will have to find where the PUP is located yourself and that may take some time. However, both ways are possible and you can use the provided guide below to help you.
