Catstart.com Removal

What is Catstart.com?

Users install the Cat Start – New Tab Page extension on their browsers expecting that they could access schedules and routes easier, but all they find after installing it is a new website Catstart.com set on their browsers. It becomes a new homepage and default search tool without permission, so it is usually classified as a browser hijacker.

If your browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome) have been hijacked as well, you should know that you can delete Catstart.com at any time quite easily. It would be best to do this as soon as possible because this website is not a good search tool. If you use it as your default search tool, it is only a question of time when it will cause problems to you. The worst that can happen if you do not uninstall Catstart.com and use it every day as your only tool for web searching is the entrance of software that belongs to the malware category on your computer.

What does Catstart.com do?

Catstart.com pretends to be a trustworthy search tool, but it is far from a reputable search provider. Instead, it is a browser hijacker that changes browsers’ settings so that it could promote certain websites. It will not display advertisements on your screen, but if you use it to search the web, it might show untrustworthy search results to you. They do not differ much from ordinary ones, so you will definitely click on them sooner or later. These search results promote external pages, so if you keep clicking on them, you might end up on a corrupted page one day as well. These pages might even contain harmful malicious software. If you are taken to such a website promoting malware, it will not miss an opportunity to infect your computer. Since it is hard to avoid those search results, you should stop using Catstart.com completely. That is, you need to remove Catstart.com from affected browsers and then set another search tool in its place.

Why do I see Catstart.com when I open my browser?

If Catstart.com is the first thing you see when you launch your browser, there is no doubt that your browser has been hijacked by the browser hijacker. That is, its settings have been changed without your knowledge. Infections that can apply changes to users’ browsers without their permission usually enter computers unnoticed. It does not mean that a similar threat cannot enter your system again after you implement the Catstart.com removal, so you should also always have a security application active on your computer.

How do I remove Catstart.com?

You should delete Catstart.com from your browsers as soon as possible if it has already been set as your new search tool because it is not a search engine that can be trusted. Even though it is not very hard to implement the Catstart.com removal manually, we suggest that you erase it automatically because, in this case, you will not need to do anything except for launching the scanner you are going to use.
