Do you need to remove Ikasutmi?

About the infection

Ikasutmi is a questionable Google Chrome extension that users visiting a particular website will be forced to install. It’s not a useful add-on, does not really do anything beneficial. All it will really do is generate advertisements so that it could generate income from pay-per-click. Since it does not provide anything of use, there is no reason why you should not delete Ikasutmi. Especially since you were basically forced to install it.

You most likely got redirected to a certain website where a pop-up appeared and asked to install an extension. No matter what you clicked on, it installed. And now your browsing is constantly interrupted by adverts. This is not only annoying but it also slows down your computer and makes your browser crash more often.

How to avoid similar infections in the future?

It’s not difficult to avoid this kind of situation but you need to learn how. When you get redirected to this kind of website and offered to install an extension, you need to close the tab or the browser itself instead of engaging with the pop-up. If you cannot close the tab or the browser by clicking the X, access Task Manager and end Google Chrome’s process. No matter what you click on the pop-up window, whether it’s “Cancel” or “No”, the extension will install. You should also check your computer for adware or browser hijackers because you got redirected to the site promoting the extension for a reason. If you want to avoid having to remove Ikasutmi or similar infections, be smart about what you install.

What does it do?

The extension will start showing you adverts as soon as it enters your Google Chrome browser. It does not seem to affect any other browsers but you should not just switch to another one and ignore the problem. And you can try to deal with the ads but eventually, you lose your patience. And all you need to do to make the ads stop is uninstall Ikasutmi. We do not recommend engaging with anything that the advertisements are showing you because they might not always be safe. You should also know that if you encounter a great discount ad, it’s probably fake and just trying to get clicks. And if you are offered to install some kind of extension, it could be malicious. If you are in need of a program, it would be best if you just downloaded it from legitimate sources, such as official websites. Otherwise, you could be risking damaging your computer. Simply delete Ikasutmi and the adverts will stop.

Ikasutmi removal

You can choose from two Ikasutmi removal methods, you just have to make sure you get rid of it fully. If you try to remove Ikasutmi automatically, you will have to get some kind of anti-spyware software. This would be quicker as the program would do everything for you. Manual elimination means you will have to find the extension yourself.
