How to remove Dridex virus

What is Dridex?

Dridex is a malign program that also goes by the names of Bugat and Cridex. This malware is used to steal financial details by logging your keystrokes. It is targeted towards Windows users. The parasite spreads via suspicious emails and gets installed through a corrupted Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel document. As soon as it gets installed, it starts collecting your private information including your logins and passwords. If you suspect that you have this parasite in your system, you should eliminate Dridex virus immediately.

How does Dridex work?

Malicious files and programs spread online using a variety of methods including bogus software bundles, corrupted links, fake ads, hacked sites, and more. Another one of those methods is spam emails with malign attachments. Some of these attachments come in the form of Microsoft Office files (supposedly bills, invoices, other important documents), which makes them seem reliable. However, once the user opens the file and enables editing, the parasite gets installed. Please note that if you only download the file, but do not open it, it cannot infect your computer on its own, so make sure that you only open files that you trust completely and avoid enabling editing on any suspicious files.

Dridex virus is designed to record the user’s keystrokes, which is why it falls into the keylogger category, even though it is often referred to as a virus. The main goal of any keylogger is to steal personal information that can later be used by cyber criminals for financial gain. If that was not bad enough, the parasite is also capable of staying undetected by various anti-viruses as it uses file signatures that are not detected as malign. Moreover, it can drop other malware onto your computer or inject a malicious code into one of your programs to alter its functioning. There is no doubt that you should get rid of Dridex virus as soon as you can.
