How to remove Search.bearshare.com?

What is Search.bearshare.com?

Search.bearshare.com is a browser hijacker, sometimes referred to as a redirect virus by malware specialist. It’s a low-level infection and cannot be considered to be malware but it does behave questionably. Like all hijackers, when it installs onto your computer, it will make changes to your browser and set its domain as your homepage and new tabs. Without your explicit permission, we might add.

Browser hijackers do not use some elaborate method to enter, they are simply attached to free programs that you install. They are hidden during freeware installation and you need to specifically look for them. If you do not, they will be allowed to install alongside the freeware. Browser hijackers do not benefit users in any way, they only bring trouble. Therefore, uninstall Search.bearshare.com.

Why remove Search.bearshare.com?

The moment the hijacker enters your computer, it will make changes to your browser and set Search.bearshare.com as your homepage and new tabs. The changes are carried out without permission which makes dealing with the hijacker very irritating. Altering the settings will also do no good because it will just change them again. Essentially, you are stuck with that questionable page until you delete Search.bearshare.com from your system. The hijacker will most likely affect all popular browsers on your computer, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. The website looks very simple in its design, it has links to recommended sites and a search bar. If you were to use it, you would be taken to search.ask.com, which may insert sponsored content into the results. Entering those sites is not recommended as they will most likely have nothing to do with what you were searching for. Hijackers just aim to generate income by redirecting you. It may even be able to lead you to malicious pages, though unlikely. In any case, to protect your computer, you ought to uninstall Search.bearshare.com.

The hijacker uses a well-known method, referred to as bundling. Basically, Search.bearshare.com was attached to freeware as an extra offer. If you manage to miss those offers during freeware installation, they are allowed to install. And you would not even notice. If you want to prevent these unecessary installations, simply choose Advanced or Custom settings during freeware installation and uncheck the boxes that become visible there. If you use Default settings, you are making a mistake because by doing so you are basically authorising all added to install. If you do not want to end up having to remove Search.bearshare.com over and over again, make sure you prevent the installation from the very beginning.

Search.bearshare.com removal

It should not be difficult to delete Search.bearshare.com, if you know what you are doing. Going with manual Search.bearshare.com removal might take more time because you will have to find the hijacker yourself. This is why we recommend you obtain professional removal software and use it to erase Search.bearshare.com.
