How to remove Searchfusion.com

Is this a serious threat?

Searchfusion.com is mere browser hijacker that could have infected your system when you were installing freeware. Hijackers are attached to free programs as extra offers and are set to install alongside. They are unnoticeable during installation, which is why you may not have seen a hijacker setting up. It’s not a serious infection, more an annoyance than anything.

They do, however, change browser’s settings and then try to redirect you to sponsored sites as that is their main intention. More traffic for a website means more money for the owner. Those redirects usually happen via search engines but the one provided by this hijacker will give you zero results. So it will not be able to redirect you to malicious pages as some hijackers are capable of doing. The hijacker could be recording your private information so it’s best you get rid of it. Delete Searchfusion.com.

How does a hijacker spread?

This usually happens when users rush the installation processes and use Default settings. Those settings will not show you if anything has been added and by using them you are essentially opening the door for all kinds of unwanted programs to enter. To avoid these unwanted installations, you need to access Advanced or Custom settings and uncheck the boxes that appear there. Only proceed to install the freeware after you have unmarked every single extra offer. Otherwise, you will be constantly stuck having to remove Searchfusion.com or similar threats.
