Picpac.info Removal

What is picpac.info?

picpac.info belongs to ClientConnect, Ltd. and is linked to the Trovi family of browser hijackers. Browser hijackers are used for generating revenue, which is why they only benefit their creators. Once the unwanted app gets access to your PC, it alters your browser settings including your home page and default search engine. It makes other modifications as well (like causing redirects, exposing you to commercial data, etc.), all of which are aimed at advertising its sponsors. If you wish to go back to your original settings and eliminate the unreliable advertisements from your browsers, you should terminate picpac.info.

How does picpac.info work?

You may not remember acquiring the hijacker, because it most likely entered your system with other freeware. Free software rarely travels alone these days, and it usually presents additional apps in its installation wizard. If you follow the steps of the wizard carefully and choose the Advanced mode, you should be able to deselect all unnecessary components. If you fail to do so, you will acquire potentially unwanted programs automatically. Make sure not to do that again.

Once the hijacker takes over your browsers, it replaces your home page and default search provider with picpac.info. The page presents you with a search box, and if you decide to use it, you will get results containing sponsored links. Other advertising data will appear on your visited websites as well. It will not matter which domains you visit, your browsing will still be slowed down by the unnecessary pop-ups, links, banners, and other ads. Please note that these adverts could be fake. If you interact with them, you could end up on a corrupted webpage promoting a virtual scam. Falling for one could result in malware infection, losing your money on bogus products, and so on. If you wish to better your online safety level, you should waste no time and delete picpac.info right away.
