Browser hijackers and other kinds of potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) aim to make income by exposing users to adverts and sponsored content, so expect to encounter that often. Using the extension is not recommended because you could easily be exposed to malicious content, which may result in a malware infection. The sooner you delete Adamant Search, the better, so you should get to it.

Why uninstall Adamant Search?

Browser hijackers usually enter the computer via freeware bundles. In the case of this extension, you could have downloaded it willingly yourself. However, the former is more likely. It was attached to some program that you installed, and because you did not deselect it, it was able to enter alongside the program. Choose Advanced (Custom) settings when you install programs, and you should be able to uncheck all of those extra offers.

The extension is advertised as a tool that will allow you to protect your privacy but it’s no different from other search tools when it comes to data collection. It’s currently only available for Google Chrome but that may change in the future. If you install it, it will make certain alterations to Google Chrome, like change your homepage and search engine. These changes are performed without your explicit permission so if you did not notice it installing, the changes will also surprise you. And they will be irreversible until you remove Adamant Search. Once it’s installed, every search you perform, whether via the provided search field or the browser address bar, will go through the hijacker’s promoted search engine. Be vary of sponsored content that has nothing to do with your searches. Hijackers insert advertisement sites into results so that owners could make ad revenue. Some of those sites may also be malicious so do not just randomly click on results. You should read the Privacy Policy of this hijacker. For an extension that emphasizes protecting your privacy, it collects quite a lot of information about you, like IP addresses and search terms. We really do not recommend using it, instead, delete Adamant Search.
