Coldsearch.com Removal Tips

Coldsearch.com is a browser hijacker that can change your home page in all major browsers including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. It may spread through malicious freeware installers. In most cases, computer users do not notice agreeing to unnecessary changes. The main symptom of the hijacker is the browser settings modifications, however, it may exhibit other behavior as well.

The hijacker may show you modified search results, redirect you to its sponsor sites, display commercial content on your visited pages, and more. There is no reason why you should tolerate any of these inconveniences. We suggest that you eliminate Coldsearch.com from your browsers as soon as you can.

How does Coldsearch.com work?

The site that replaces your home page, Coldsearch.com, contains a search box, a suspicious ad that appears right below it, and links to License Agreement, Privacy Policy, and About us. If you click on the About us link, you will be presented with the information about the search page. It states that Coldsearch was founded in 2014 and that it aims to provide you with “easy navigation experience by having a range of services including but not limited to top social networks, shopping sites, a variety of entertainment channels and an unique web search engine.” You should keep in mind, however, that it does not hold responsibility for the content that it promotes. Therefore, you may be exposed to unreliable ads and links. We urge you to stay away from all commercial content related to the hijacker until you terminate Coldsearch.com altogether.

Other symptoms often associated with browser hijackers are Internet slow downs, constant redirects, and tracking cookies. The hijacker slows down your Internet surfing by flooding your with commercial data including the unnecessary redirects that happen every time you click on a new tab. Tracking cookies, on the other hand, are used to collect your personally non-identifiable information such as what sites you visit, what you search for, what ads you click on, and similar. This data is used to personalize the ads you see online and it may be sold to third parties. If you are not comfortable with sharing your online browsing details, you should uninstall Coldsearch.com right away.
