What is GamesLava?
GamesLava is adware that poses as an application that lets people play arcade games. The reason why GamesLava is adware is because it can install onto your computer without your permission and then track your browsing activities. When it gathers enough information, it will start generating ads according to what you searched for before. That is the main purpose of GamesLava, to gain income from ads that you click on. You can get GamesLava from its official website or by installing free software from the Internet in Default settings. Whichever way you got it, we recommend you do not keep it any longer and remove GamesLava. When it installs on your computer, GamesLava will bombard you with intrusive ads and pop ups, which can lead you to serious viruses.
How did GamesLava end up on my computer
GamesLava has an official website where you can download the application from. You can also get it through installing free software. Usually, most people use Default settings when installing programs but by doing so, they might miss additional items being installed along with the free software. That is not unusual and most viruses can infect your computer that way. You might end up with something much more serious than just adware. Therefore, you should always use Advanced (Custom) settings, where you can see exactly what you are installing onto your computer. Whichever way you got it, we recommend you uninstall GamesLava.
What does GamesLava do?
When GamesLava is installed on your computer, you will start seeing a lot of intrusive ads and pop ups. Those ads could lead you to websites full of malicious viruses that can do serious harm. GamesLava might also collect data about you. Your search history and sites visited can be accessible to GamesLava, and the information will be then used to generate ads according to what you searched for. That is the main purpose of Gameslava, to gain income from the ads that you end up clicking on. GamesLava really does not care what content you are being exposed to, thus, we encourage you to delete GamesLava.
