Remove Searchbee.net

About this infection

Searchbee.net is a questionable website, promoted by a browser hijacker, that is presented as a helpful tool when in reality it will try to redirect you to sponsored sites. It’s not a malicious infection, although it can expose you to danger. If you happen to find it on your computer, there’s no need to worry too much because all it will do directly is change your browser’s settings and set a weird website as your homepage and new tabs.

Those changes will come out of the blue as soon as the hijacker installs. And it does that via free software bundles, which means you most likely installed it without even realizing. It will attempt to redirect you to sponsored pages because that is how it generates income. You need to be careful of being led to malicious sites as the hijacker does not differentiate between legitimate and secure ones. We strongly suggest you delete Searchbee.net.

How does the hijacker spread?

Browser hijackers are attached to free software as extra offers that you can choose to install if you want. However, they are hidden and set to install alongside the freeware so if you want to avoid their installation, you will need to manually deselect them. This is done by picking Advanced or Custom settings and unchecking the boxes of all extra offers. All you need to do is unmark the boxes of all additional offers and you can safely continue installing the freeware. Refrain from using Default settings because you will end up having to remove Searchbee.net or similar over and over again.

Why uninstall Searchbee.net?

Even if browser hijackers are not malicious, they should not be allowed to remain installed. The changes that hijackers make will affect all leading browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. And before you try to change the settings back, don’t waste your time. You will first need to delete Searchbee.net and only then will you be able to change the settings back. The website that will be set as your homepage and new tabs will offer you to zip/unzip files and use a search engine. The search engine will lead you to Hopebest Yahoo Search where you will encounter sponsored content. Hijackers aim to redirect you to those sponsored web pages so that they could generate income as more traffic means more money. We should also warn you that some hijackers are able to redirect users to malicious content, which would lead you to some kind of malware downloading onto your computer. Do not keep it. Remove Searchbee.net.

Searchbee.net removal
