About Searchpause.com

Searchpause.com is a browser hijacker that quietly infiltrates your computer and makes unwanted changes. Browser hijackers enter your computer via freeware when users carelessly install it. Once it installs onto your computer, it will proceed to alter your browser’s settings. It effects the most popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari. You might not be able to change the settings back without Searchpause.com removal. Browser hijackers exist to generate traffic for certain websites and they are not considered to be a serious threat. That does not mean they should remain on your computer. The sooner you delete Searchpause.com, the sooner you can go back to regular browsing.

How does Searchpause.com spread?

Browser hijackers usually spread via free software. Adware and other potentially unwanted programs (PUP) also spread much the same way. The developers of Searchpause.com attached this redirect virus to freeware and when you installed that freeware, you ended up with Searchpause.com as well. Thankfully, you can prevent it from installing. All you need to do is use Advanced (Custom) settings when installing freeware. Only in those settings will you be able to see what additional items will be installed. The users who fly through the installation process in Default settings are usually the ones who end up with browser hijackers and adware on their computers.

Why must I remove Searchpause.com from my computer?

Browser hijackers are completely useless to you, they only bring trouble. While not malicious by themselves, they can be incredibly annoying. If Searchpause.com infiltrates your computer, it will alter you browser’s settings and set your homepage, new tabs and search engine to its domain. Basically, every time you open your favorite browser, you will be redirected to Searchpause.com. It will try to convince you to use the provided search engine, which would give you peculiar results if used. They would lead you to websites that might not have anything to do with what you searched for. Searchpause.com just want to redirect you to certain websites to increase traffic on them. It might also use ads to do that. Searchpause.com could also be collecting information about you, such as websites visited or what your search for. They could be selling that information to third parties. Rather worrying, right? There’s no reason why you should keep it so we suggest you remove Searchpause.com from your computer.
