SecureCrypted Removal Tips (Uninstall SecureCrypted)

SecureCrypted falls into the category of file-encoding ransomware. It slithers into computers through corrupted links, malicious email attachments, fake ads, hacked websites, and so on. It is similar to CTB-Locker, TeslaCrypt, Locky, Chimera, and a variety of other harmful programs that belong to this category.

Once inside, it starts encrypting your data by using the asymmetric encryption algorithm. The corrupted files cannot be accessed without the decryption key, which is exactly what the malware developers attempt to sell you. We urge you not to purchase anything from them. Instead, you should remove SecureCrypted as soon as you can.

How does SecureCrypted work?

The main purpose of the ransomware is to extort money from you. That is why it starts the file encryption process as soon as it gets access to your computer. The threat affects different file types including documents (txt, doc, pdf files), images (jpg, png, bmp files), videos (avi, mp4 files), and others. All corrupted files have “SecureCrypted” added to their extensions. After the encryption is complete, the parasite creates files that contain information on what has happened to your data and how you should proceed.

The instructions state that all your data files are now encoded and that the only way to recover them is by contacting the cyber crooks via the provided email. The hackers even promise to decrypt one file as a proof that it can be done. We urge you not to contact the criminals, because they will only demand that you pay a ransom for your data. The amount that is usually asked by ransomware developers may range from 0.5 to 1.5 Bitcoins. In case you are not sure how much that is, 1 Bitcoin equals about $635 at the moment. It is clear that wasting so much money when there are no guarantees is not a wise choice. We advise that you terminate SecureCrypted and try a different data recovery method.
