About Securefindersearch.com

Securefindersearch.com is yet another browser hijacker, also known as a redirect virus. It’s not a malicious infection and does not do serious harm to your computer as long as you don’t use it. Browser hijackers are created to increase traffic for certain websites and they do that by redirecting you to those sites. Securefindersearch.com might change your browser’s settings, set you homepage, new tabs and search engine to its domain. And you might not be able to change the settings back without having to remove Securefindersearch.com. It might get on your computer without you knowing because it can install along with a different program. It does not make your browsing experience better so we suggest you uninstall Securefindersearch.com.

How does Securefindersearch.com browser hijacker spread

Securefindersearch.com spreads via free software. It’s called the bundling technique and a lot of developers use this way to spread browser hijackers, adware and potentially unwanted programs. Developers attach their products to software as additional items and when you install the software, you end up installing their products as well. When you install free software you probably have the habit of using the Default settings. That is how Securefindersearch.com got on your computer. By using Default settings, you risk missing those additional items. You need to use Advanced (Custom) settings because those settings let you see and uncheck all unwanted items, therefore preventing the installation of Securefindersearch.com and similar. If it did install on your computer, it’s best you delete Securefindersearch.com.

What does Securefindersearch.com redirect virus do

Securefindersearch.com changes your browser’s settings, might set your homepage, new tabs and search engine to Securefindersearch.com. If you want to change the settings back, you need to uninstall Securefindersearch.com. The reason it changes such settings is to make redirecting you to certain websites easier. If you use the search engine, you might notice a lot of strange results, most of them ads. If you click on them, you might get redirected to websites that have nothing to do with what you searched for. Securefindersearch.com does that because it wants to increase traffic on those websites. It basically wants to generate income. That’s not all. Securefindersearch.com does not care what kind of websites you are being exposed to. That means you might end up in a website that has malware on it. When you enter such a website, malware might silently download onto your computer. Securefindersearch.com is rather useless to you so we recommend you delete Securefindersearch.com.
