Remove SrchSafe Search

What is SrchSafe Search?

SrchSafe Search (also known as Query.searchbrs.com) is a browser hijacker that usually enters systems with a potentially unwanted application. The hijacker alters your preferences in all of your browsers, causes redirects, floods you with ads, and so on. It aims at earning revenue by promoting its sponsors and, regardless of what its developers may want you to think, there is nothing especially useful about it. There is no reason why you should waste your time on this app. We suggest that you terminate SrchSafe Search as soon as you can.

How does SrchSafe Search work?

SrchSafe Search spreads on the Internet with the help of other freeware and shareware. It gets attached to free software and comes in a bundle with it after you download it from a third party source. During the installation process, you are presented with an offer to add more programs to your PC. If you skip through the wizard without paying close attention to it, you will miss this offer and thus agree to it unknowingly. That is why you should never install freeware without making sure that you deselect all optional components that come with it.

Once inside, the first action that the hijacker takes is switching your home page and default search engine to SrchSafe Search. This is done in order to provide you with sponsored search results. In addition to that, you will also see advertising data on your visited pages regardless of their content. You may also experience redirects to unfamiliar domains, encounter customized ads, notice Internet connection and computer slow downs, and more. The most serious problem with the hijacker, however, is that it will expose you to unsafe ads that could lead you to corrupted websites. In order to avoid dealing with online scams, you should get rid of SrchSafe Search.
