Remove Startinf.com

About this hijacker

Startinf.com is a browser hijacker that could have entered your computer via freeware bundles. It may have been added to freeware as an extra offer, and it installed because you did not notice it. Hijackers are not serious infections but they do make certain changes to browser’s settings, set their promoted sites as your homepage, new tabs and search engine.

These changes are performed without permission, and can sometimes be difficult to reverse. This is why it’s better if you prevent hijackers from installing in the first place, and we will explain how to do that in the following paragraph. You shouldn’t encounter too many issues when dealing with it, but do keep in mind that hijackers can sometimes lead to malicious sites, and that could lead to a serious infection. We suggest you delete Startinf.com sooner rather than later.

How are hijackers spread?

Browser hijackers are added to freeware as extra offers, and you need to deselect them when you install programs. They will not be visible in Default settings but those settings are what users usually choose, which is why hijackers are so common. Instead, you should choose Advanced or Custom settings as they will show you if anything has been added. If there is, we recommend you deselect it. If those items did not properly disclose their installation, they should not be allowed to install. And if you already installed it, remove Startinf.com.

Why uninstall Startinf.com?

Browser hijackers will not harm your computer, but they will perform changes to your browser without your permission. This makes it a pretty noticeable infection because who would not notice that their homepage and new tabs have been changed. You may encounter these changes on all major browsers you have installed, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. And until you delete Startinf.com, you will not be able to undo the alterations. Your new homepage is pretty useless, all it offers is a search box leading to Google, and links to sites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. There is also no Privacy Policy or Terms of Use. When those two forms are not available, you have no way of knowing whether a site is going to collect information about you and your browsing. It could be collecting all kinds of information and sharing it with third-parties. We strongly suggest you remove Startinf.com as soon as possible.
