About Wizzcaster virus

Wizzcaster virus refers to an adware program that will constantly redirect you to Wizzcaster.com and show you ads. While it’s referred to as a virus by some users, it’s not actually a serious infection. Adware is relatively minor compared to malware, as it will not actually directly damage your device. However, what it will do is show you loads of ads and cause redirects, which is quite annoying. By doing so, it tries to earn revenue. In order to make you engage with the ads, it will show you all kinds of tempting offers, coupons, etc. Engaging with those ads could pose a risk to your computer. While adware is not dangerous by itself, it can easily expose you to malicious ads. Since ads are not checked before they are shown to you, they can easily be promoting scams or malware. So while adware is present on the computer, it’s best to avoid all ads.

It doubtful you will want to keep the program installed, as it will do nothing but annoy you. In addition, it probably sneaked into your computer without your permission. Adware, browser hijackers and other potentially unwanted programs usually install via the bundling method. They come attached to freeware as extra offers, which need to be deselected manually. If they are not, they will install alongside. Because the offers are hidden, a lot of users do not deselect them. Continue reading to find out how to install programs and not end up with extra offers.

If you notice the adware on your computer, you need to get rid of it sooner rather than later. While it’s not malicious itself, it will cause unnecessary disruption. There’s not reason why you should put up with it, so we recommend you delete Wizzcaster virus.

How to avoid installing adware?

As mentioned above, adware usually spreads via the bundling method. When it’s attached to a program, it’s usually hidden during the installation. Because of this, you might not even notice it, thus allowing it to install alongside the program. If you want to avoid that, you need to pay closer attention to how you install programs. The most important thing is picking Advanced (Custom) settings. Those settings will make all offers visible, and you will be able to deselect them. All that you really need to do is uncheck the boxes. You may then continue installing the program. There could be multiple offers attached to a program, and we would suggest deselecting all of them. They are unlikely to be of any use to you, and if they used such a sneaky method to try to sneak into your computer, they should not be permitted to install.

What does it do?

Like most adware, Wizzcaster wants to make revenue. It does so by showing you ads everywhere, on all browsers (whether you’re using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox). Ad blocker might help but you will eventually have to deal with the adware, and the sooner you do it, the better. Until you do, do not engage with any ads you see. Adware generated ones are not safe as they are not checked before being shown to you.

Be particularly careful of ones offering you to download programs as that is a known malware distribution method. You can often encounter malware offered as a legitimate program or update on questionable websites, such as adult entertainment, gambling and free streaming sites. Some even trick users into downloading that malware by showing an ad saying an update for a program is necessary. You should know that you should never download anything from questionable websites, no matter how legitimate it may seem. If you need a program, use official websites/stores, and never advertisements. The same can be said about updates.

Adware also often shows fake ads in order to get you to engage with as many ads as possible. You could be shown seemingly amazing deals and coupons, only to later find that they are nothing more than scams. Be skeptical of those great deals and purchase things carefully, as offered items might not even exist.

If you are shown an ad that claims you have won something, do not engage with it. It’s nothing more than a scam as no legitimate companies will ever host a giveaway in this way. Not Google, not Facebook and not Amazon. It’s merely aiming to get your personal information, as you will be asked to put it in to supposedly get the prize. That information would then be either used to scam you further or sold in a data block.
