Search.queryrouter.com – How to remove?

What is Search.queryrouter.com?

Search.queryrouter.com is a browser hijacker, capable of altering your browser’s settings. It can enter your device if you are not careful when installing software, and usually goes unnoticed until it chooses to make an appearance. When you open your browser, you will suddenly find that Search.queryrouter.com loads every single time. You will soon realize that this hijacker has changed your browser’s settings and now you cannot change them back.

The good news is that Search.queryrouter.com is not malicious. It is not a computer virus, nor will it harm your computer directly. While most browser hijackers aim to generate pay-per-click revenue via redirecting you, Search.queryrouter.com might act just as an information collecting tool. Search.queryrouter.com claims that it will collect personal information, and although they promise not to release it to anyone, it is still rather worrying that a random application will know your name and other private data. Do not delay this, and remove Search.queryrouter.com.

Why should you delete Search.queryrouter.com?

It’s very easy for browser hijackers to enter computers. It is because you allow them, yourself. They’re not malicious, therefore, need your permission to enter. They are attached to free software as those additional items that you can choose to install. If you do not want those attached items, you need to deselect them. And you cannot do that in Default settings, which are unfortunately the settings most users opt for. Instead, you need to choose Advanced (Custom) settings. When using them, you will be able to deselect all added items and they will not install. All you have to do is uncheck a couple of boxes and that takes seconds. Having to uninstall Search.queryrouter.com will take much more time and patience.

Search.queryrouter.com will hijack your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox) and set itself as your homepage and new tabs. Usually, browser hijackers prevent users from making further changes to browser’s settings, so you would most likely need to remove Search.queryrouter.com first before you restore the settings. Search.queryrouter.com looks like a legitimate search engine website so it’s not surprising that users would use it. You will soon realize that it generates results via Google, which means there is no use in using Search.queryrouter.com as you can just go to Google. The worrying things is, if your read about the information they collect in their Privacy Policy, they clearly state that they will collect your Name, Gender, Data of birth, Country, etc. This is a website that has appeared out of nowhere and has hijacked your browser, do you really want it to have such sensitive information about you? We strongly suggest you uninstall Search.queryrouter.com from your computer.
