Is X1.c.lencr.org kwaadaardig?
Het X1.c.lencr.org domein is onlangs voor veel gebruikers flagged as compromised geweest, wat ertoe heeft geleid dat sommigen geloven dat het kwaadaardig is. Is echter X1.c.lencr.org een legitiem domein dat behoort tot Let’s Encrypt, een non-profit certificeringsinstantie die wordt beheerd door de Internet Security Research Group. Een zoekopdracht van het domein met Google toont veel resultaten beweren dat X1.c.lencr.org is gevaarlijk en kan zelfs leiden tot een ernstige malware-infectie. Dat is echter niet echt het geval. Analyse reports geeft aan dat het een schoon domein is, waardoor het markeren waarschijnlijk vals positief is. Let’s Encrypt zelf heeft gezegd dat ze zich ervan bewust zijn dat het domein is gemarkeerd als gecompromitteerd en werken aan het herstellen van de fout. De fout-positieve detectie moet in de nabije toekomst worden opgelost als deze nog niet is gedaan, omdat deze veel gebruikers beïnvloedt. Dit zou gebruikers op zijn minst op hun gemak moeten stellen dat het niet schadelijk is en niets om je zorgen over te maken.

Omdat X1.c.lencr.org gecompromitteerd zijn waarschijnlijk een vals positief is, hoef je niets te doen. Let’s Encrypt moet de fout aan hun kant oplossen.
