What is Quick Search Tool?
Quick Search Tool may be promoted as a useful utility, however, it actually falls into the browser hijacker category as it makes unwanted browser modifications and floods users with various ads. The potentially unwanted application travels online in freeware and shareware bundles. It often gets installed unnoticed by users because of the deceptive distribution method that it employs. There is nothing especially beneficial about the app and it certainly causes quite a few disturbances, which is why we suggest that you get rid of Quick Search Tool without further delay.
How does Quick Search Tool work?
Although Quick Search Tool has an official website, that hardly makes it a legitimate app. On the official webpage of the utility, no Privacy Policy or Terms of Service are provided. If you try to open the page that is supposed to contain them, you get presented with an error message. This, of course, is done on purpose in order to avoid legal requirements that all legitimate software has to meet. In addition to that, the app uses the bundling distribution method to enter computers without users’ notice by attaching itself to more useful programs.
Once the hijacker takes over your browsers, it sets search.searchquicks.com as your new home page and default search engine. These actions are taken to present you with advertising content. Sponsored links will start appearing in your search results, various ads will show up on the pages that you visit, and you will get rerouted to unfamiliar sites. This will slow down your browsing speed, not to mention expose you to adverts that are not as reliable as they may seem. Clicking on them could result in malware infection or falling for a scam. In order to improve your online safety, we urge you to eliminate Quick Search Tool from your browsers.
