What is Cleanserp.net?
Like other browser hijackers, Cleanserp.net is advertised as a beneficial search tool that can provide you with the best search results and improve your overall online experience. Its real purpose, however, is completely different. The hijacker is used by its developers to earn revenue by exposing you to advertising data. It gets distributed through freeware and shareware bundles. Once inside, the hijacker alters your browser settings and takes other actions that disrupt your browsing. If you wish to go back to your original settings, you should terminate Cleanserp.net without delay.
How does Cleanserp.net work?
The reason we mentioned the hijacker’s distribution method is because it is rather misleading. Potentially unwanted apps use free software bundles, because it allows them to enter computers without the users’ notice. That is why it is so important to pay attention to the installation wizard of the software that you download from third party content hosting sites. As soon as the hijacker gets access to your PC, it replaces your home page and default search engine with Cleanserp.net. That, however, is not the only change that the hijacker makes.
As you most likely already noticed, the amount of ads you see online has dramatically increased after the hijacker’s arrival. You see various ads including pop-ups, links, banners, coupons, redirects, and other advertising data no matter which sites you visit. Every time you click on the adverts, the hijacker’s developers make money. That is why you will not be able to surf the Web without dealing with never-ending distractions. More than that, you should be aware of the fact that the ads are not monitored by anyone, so their safety is not guaranteed. You could click on a fake ad and end up on a corrupted domain, which could result in malware infection or other unwelcome consequences. We suggest that you do not let that happen by completing Cleanserp.net removal as soon as you can.
