Geevv.com is an Indonesian browser hijacker that can get into your computer via software bundles. It will enter if you carelessly install free software, and will make unwanted changes to your browser. However, while it uses a rather sneaky method to infect, it is not malicious. It will not harm your system directly but it can expose you to unreliable content. Browser hijackers exist to generate pay-per-click revenue for sponsored websites and they do not care if the sites you will be redirected to are safe. You could end up on an infected page and obtain malware by mistake. We always suggest users get rid of browser hijackers immediately as they offer no useful functions. Remove Geevv.com.
Why should you not delay Geevv.com removal?
The bundling method is the most common way browser hijackers get distributed. Free software usually has some sort of item attached to it and if that item goes unnoticed by the user, it will install automatically. If you use Default settings during the freeware installation process, you will not be made aware of those items and they will be allowed to install. What you need to do is use Advanced or Custom settings. In them, you will be able to deselect everything that has been added. Do not rush through the process in Default settings because you might end up with all sorts of unwanted items. And if you have already installed this hijacker, delete Geevv.com from your computer.
Geevv.com will alter your browser’s settings and set itself as your homepage, new tabs and search engine. You are not asked to permit the changes and you cannot undo them unless you first uninstall Geevv.com. The page is in Indonesian, so if you do not speak the language, it will be of no use to you anyway. If try to search for something using the search engine, you will quickly notice that it inserts sponsored content into the search results. You will end up on pages that have little to do with what you were searching for. If you are not careful, you could end up on a malicious web page and obtain malware. So while a browser hijacker is not malicious by itself , it could indirectly lead you to dangerous computer viruses. You must delete Geevv.com.
In order to remove Geevv.com, we suggest you use a reliable removal tool. It will locate and erase Geevv.com with minimal effort from you. However, you can also uninstall Geevv.com manually but you would need to locate Geevv.com yourself and some users struggle with that. Whichever way you pick, make sure you eliminate Geevv.com fully so that it cannot renew itself again.
