About this infection
JS:Agent-EDB [Trj] seems to be a Trojan that users are warned about by Avast and AVG anti-malware programs. It is not clear what exactly it does but the mentioned anti-malware constantly warn some users about this threat constantly, one pop-up after another. The pop-up displayed by AVG warns users that connection to sites such as unstop.club or none-stops.com have been aborted because they are infected with this threat.
Both websites seem to be essentially the same, and offer to ‘surf the web without any geo-restrictions’. Some malware removal programs consider those sites to be malicious. It’s not clear how users end up on those sites, they may be unknowingly redirected, which triggers the anti-malware to react. Users report that the warnings keep appearing over and over again, especially for those using Avast. It is not yet clear what is causing the warnings, it may be that some deeper issue is not detected by anti-malware, and is continually connecting to those sites, thus causing anti-malware to react.
If you didn’t have anti-malware, the infection would get into your computer. If it is indeed some kind of Trojan, it could spy on you, collect your personal information, and even open backdoors for more malicious threats to enter, unknowingly to you.
Should you remove JS:Agent-EDB [Trj]?
If your anti-malware is constantly popping up those warnings, it may be a good idea to scan your computer with a different security program. Try a couple to see whether it detects anything unusual. Malwarebytes in particular seem to detect some kind of threats when these pop-ups are appearing. Your computer should not be infected with this, as your anti-malware blocks it. Therefore, no need to delete JS:Agent-EDB [Trj], unless your security program prompts you to.
