About this PUP
NativeDesktopMediaService virus refers to a potentially unwanted program (PUP) that will track you as your browse, and send your device information to various websites. It connects to various websites, as well as create a Windows service called NativeDesktopMediaService. Because it can install via the bundling method, users may not even know the infection is there. And while it’s not the most malicious infection you can encounter, it’s still an infection, which means it does not belong on your computer, particularly because it installs without permission.

They could also be advertising software or claiming you need to download an update. Be very careful with ads offering you software and updates because they are likely malicious. Legitimate software/updates will never be advertised in such a way, and they should only be obtained via official websites/sources, never ads. In general, the less you engage with ads while PUPs are installed, the better as they could easily expose you to something malicious. And make sure you remove NativeDesktopMediaService virus as soon as possible.

Step 1. Uninstall NativeDesktopMediaService and related programs.
Remove NativeDesktopMediaService from Windows 8
Right-click in the lower left corner of the screen. Once Quick Access Menu shows up, select Control Panel choose Programs and Features and select to Uninstall a software.
Uninstall NativeDesktopMediaService from Windows 7
Click Start → Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall a program.
Delete NativeDesktopMediaService from Windows XP
Click Start → Settings → Control Panel. Locate and click → Add or Remove Programs.
Remove NativeDesktopMediaService from Mac OS X
Click Go button at the top left of the screen and select Applications. Select applications folder and look for NativeDesktopMediaService or any other suspicious software. Now right click on every of such entries and select Move to Trash, then right click the Trash icon and select Empty Trash.
