Is this a serious infection?
Cleanervirus.club redirects are probably caused by some kind of adware infection. Adware usually enters computer via free software bundles, when users do not notice anything being attached to the freeware they are installing. The good news is that adware infections are pretty noticeable so you will be able to deal with one right away.
This particular one will constantly redirect you to one particular website, where a pop-up will warn you about someone tracking your computer. It is a ploy to make you install additional unwanted or even malicious programs. While adware itself is not a serious infection, the redirects that it will perform may be able to lead you to malicious sites, which could lead to a much more serious infection. We strongly recommend you delete Cleanervirus.club, and not engage with any of its shown windows.
How to avoid an adware infection?
Like we said above, adware is added to freeware. In order to prevent its installation, you need to deselect it during freeware installation. Fortunately, that is easily done in Advanced or Custom settings of the freeware installation process. When you pick those settings, you will see everything that has been added. If there is something, simply deselect the boxes. This will prevent added offers from installing, and will ensure that you do not need to remove Cleanervirus.club or similar later.
What does adware do?
The adware will stick to Google Chrome, other browsers might not be affected but that could change in the future. Do not ignore the issue, thinking it’s going to go away on its own because it won’t. Until you uninstall Cleanervirus.club, you will get constantly redirected to that weird site with pop-ups. This adware aims to make you install additional, possibly malicious software, so do not engage with anything it shows you. When you get redirected to that site, a message will pop up, saying your computer is being tracked. It claims that if you press ‘OK’, the tracking could be disabled. Some users might not be aware that these kinds of messages are always a scam. Your browser will never display warnings about an infection present on your computer, or about someone tracking you. That’s what anti-malware is for. If you were to press OK, some kind of additional unwanted software could install, and bring even more danger to your system. If you want to protect your computer, you need to delete Cleanervirus.club as soon as possible. And make sure you don’t allow any extra installations.
It would be easiest if you obtained anti-spyware software for Cleanervirus.club removal. It would make sure to remove Cleanervirus.club completely, with no leftovers remaining. If you go with the manual elimination, you will have to find the hijacker yourself, which may take a longer time because adware is hiding. Whichever way you choose, just make sure you uninstall Cleanervirus.club fully.
