About this infection
Euro-search.net is a dubious website that could be set as your homepage if you have a certain browser hijacker installed on your computer. These kinds of infections are not exactly dangerous by themselves, and as long as you get rid of it the moment you notice it, your system should be okay. The major signs of an infection are changed browser’s settings and weird sites loading when browser is launched. You will have a new homepage, which we do not recommend using. It may insert sponsored websites into the results so that you would be redirected to those sites. The thing is, hijackers do not differentiate between safe and malicious sites, which means you could be redirected to something malicious. This is why you need to delete Euro-search.net. You should also start paying closer attention to how you install freeware as via that you got the hijacker in the first place.
How to prevent these infections in the future?
These kinds of threats can easily be blocked. You either stop installing free software you got from questionable sources, or you make sure to deselect all extra offers that come with the freeware. To be able to do the latter, you need to use Advanced or Custom settings when installing freeware. Those settings will allow you to check if anything has been added, and if there is something, all you will need to do is uncheck the boxes. Only after you have deselected all extra offers should you continue to install the freeware, unless you want to end up having to remove Euro-search.net or similar again.
Why uninstall Euro-search.net?
Browser hijackers change browser’s settings the moment they enter the computer. So you will have a different homepage and new tabs, and will be unable to undo the setting modifications. You will first need to delete Euro-search.net to not have your changes overruled by the hijacker. The hijacker will affect all popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox so you will not be able to avoid the problem. We recommend not using whatever is provided on the site. No matter how legitimate it looks, if it appeared out of the blue, avoid using it. The search engine may insert sponsored content into the results and you could be redirected to completely unrelated pages. The hijacker merely aims to generate income by redirecting, it does not care where you end up. You could be led to malware this way. Thus, you need to remove Euro-search.net.
You have two options when it comes to Euro-search.net removal. If you go with the automatic method, you will need to get anti-spyware software and have it get rid of the hijacker. If you try to uninstall Euro-search.net manually, you will have to find the hijacker yourself, which, while possible, may be more time-consuming than you realize.
