Gsrch.com Removal Tips
Gsrch.com is a one of many browser hijackers that can replace your browser settings without your notice. The changes that it makes are aimed at boosting online traffic. The hijacker adds commercials into all of your visited sites, redirects you to its sponsors, and more.
Because of the excess advertising data that it will insert into your browser, your Internet surfing speed will considerably decrease. In general, there is nothing beneficial about the hijacker that would make you want to tolerate the disruptions that it causes. We advise that you uninstall Gsrch.com as soon as you can.
How does Gsrch.com work?
Once the hijacker takes over, the Gsrch.com website replaces your home page. The hijacker also changes your default search engine. Your new home page contains two search boxes and two sets of search parameters including Images, Maps, Shopping, News, Videos, and More. If you enter a term into either box, you will be provided with results from Google Custom Search. These results consist of Google Search results and sponsored links added by the hijacker. We suggest that you do not click on the sponsored ads, because you cannot be sure of their safety. The same goes for other advertisements that the hijacker will expose you to. If you do not want to risk your computer’s safety, you should avoid all ads for now.
In addition to flooding you with unnecessary pop-ups, banners, and other adverts, the hijacker will also cause random redirects to its sponsor sites. You should not interact with these pages. The hijacker will also track your cookies in order to collect information about your online activities. It will record which sites you visit, what you search for, what ads you click on, etc. If you do not want to share these details with the hijacker’s owners and other third parties, you should eliminate Gsrch.com from your Internet browsers right away.
