What is INF:AutoRun-gen
INF:AutoRun-gen is a generic threat detection name used by various anti-virus programs. Similar names like INF/Autorun.gen, Trojan.AutorunINF.Gen, INF.AutoRun are also used to detect the same thing. Your anti-virus detecting INF:AutoRun-gen can mean two things, it’s detecting a false positive, or there is a worm on your computer. If it’s the former you have nothing to worry about, if it’s the latter, there could be a serious infection on your computer. 
The file that is detected as INF:AutoRun-gen is autorun.inf. Many legitimate program also create this file when installed, so your anti-virus could be falsely detecting it. This would mean the detection is a false positive. Check where the file is located, it’s likely placed in a program’s you recently installed folder. If it’s a false positive, you will not notice any suspicious symptoms.
However, if you’re dealing with an actual infection, there will be signs pointing to it. There could be a worm-type of infection on your computer. Worms replicate themselves to spread to other computers. They usually do nothing more than spread to other computers, but on some occasions they can help download additional malware onto your device. You could end up with adware, a browser hijacker, a trojan or even ransomware. If you’re dealing with adware or a browser hijacker, your browser’s settings would be changed, you’d be redirected to weird websites and would see a lot of intrusive advertisements. More serious infections like trojans and ransomware can steal data, encrypt and delete files. However, seeing as you have anti-virus software installed, serious infections are unlikely as they would have been detected already.
Do you need to delete INF:AutoRun-gen?
If you think you are dealing with a false positive, report it as such. These issues are usually solved pretty quickly and are gone with an update. However, if an actual infection is present on your computer, you need to remove INF:AutoRun-gen. Your anti-virus should take care of that.
