Lyricfinder.org is a browser hijacker that may suddenly appear on your browser. It is not a malicious computer virus so there is no need to panic. Browser hijackers do not harm computers by themselves as their main goal is to generate income by exposing users to sponsored content. However, that does not mean hijackers are harmless. Some of them can lead users to malicious content which could end in a serious malware infection.
Browser hijackers spread with the help of free software. They are attached to the freeware in a way that allows them to install alongside. Most users are not aware of the fact that freeware comes with bundled items and allow all kinds of unwanted applications to install. If you do not wish to risk your computer and want to return to normal browsing, you need to delete Lyricfinder.org immediately.
How does Lyricfinder.org spread?
Lyricfinder.org was attached to some kind of freeware that you installed. You must have rushed through the installation process and missed Lyricfinder.org being attached. Added items are set to install alongside so if you miss them, you are essentially giving them the permission to install. If you want to avoid unwanted installations, you need to start using Advanced or Custom settings during installation. Added items will become visible in those settings and you will also be given the option of deselecting them. It takes seconds as all you have to do is uncheck a couple of boxes.
