What is Newtab.club?
Newtab.club is a dubious search engine and a browser hijacker. It can hijack your browser when you accidentally install it along with freeware. Specialists categorize it as a redirect virus but it should be noted that Newtab.club is not malicious malware. It will not directly harm your computer but Newtab.club should not remain on your device. It can cause you redirects to dubious websites and alter your browser’s settings. This is not only annoying but it can also be harmful. You could be led to a dangerous website and end up with malware. It has also been reported that it can track your browsing activities and collect certain information. We suggest you remove Newtab.club from your computer.
Why should I uninstall Newtab.club?
Many users are not aware of the fact that freeware could have attached items. Those items install automatically if you choose Default settings when installing freeware. Those settings do not show you any attached items and you give them permission to install. All sorts of items could be attached to freeware, including browser hijackers, adware and other potentially unwanted items, so it’s important that you know how to prevent their installation. You can do that by opting for Advanced or Custom settings during installation. You will see a clear list of added items and if you do not want them, you can deselect them.
Once Newtab.club installs onto your computer, it will hijack your browser (be it Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari) and alter certain settings. You will notice that every time you open your browser, you will be redirected to Newtab.club. Soon it will become clear that it has set its domain as your homepage, new tabs and search engine. The website itself seems very simple, it has a search bar and shortcuts to popular websites, such as YouTube, Wikipedia and Amazon. If you use the search bar, you will notice that Newtab.club inserts a lot of ads into the results. You might accidentally click on one such result and end up on a website that has nothing to do with what you were searching for. The worrying thing about those redirects is that it could lead you to a suspicious domain and you could end up with malware on your computer. It has also been noted that Newtab.club can monitor your browsing activities. It gathers certain information and it could be later sold to third-parties, who would use it for their own purposes. In order to protect your computer and your privacy, we recommend you delete Newtab.club.
You can use anti-malware software to delete Newtab.club. If you don’t have it, you can try manual Newtab.club removal.
