About this infection

PhotoMania is an adware program that will generate countless advertisements if you install it. If you do not recall installing it yourself, it was added to a program you installed as an extra offer. These kinds of programs will not harm your computer if you get rid of them right away. Otherwise, you could be exposed to something malicious and end up with a more serious infection on your system. There is no reason why you should not delete PhotoMania as all it does it expose you to advertisements. They will appear constantly whenever you are browsing, even on legitimate websites, so it’s doubtful you will want to keep it. And like we mentioned before, they could expose you to malicious content.

Adware distribution ways

When you install freeware, it is important that you pay attention to how you are doing it. You need to use Advanced or Custom settings. And the reason for that is some programs can come together with unwanted programs like adware or hijackers, and only in those settings will you be able to check. A lot of users use Default settings, and that is why they end up with such questionable offers installed. When you access Advanced settings, if you see something added, uncheck it/them. Do not permit any of those extra offers to install. Unless you want to be stuck having to remove PhotoMania or similar again.

How to stop all the adverts?

The advertisements will start appearing as soon as the adware installs onto your computer. You will start seeing them on all kinds of websites, even ones where you didn’t usually encounter adverts. They will appear on all popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, so you will not be able to just switch browsers. Until you uninstall PhotoMania, you will just have to deal with them. We do not recommend engaging with any of the ads because adware generated ones might not be as safe. And they might be deceiving. Adware aims to make income from pay-per-click so it could be creating adverts just so you would click on them. It would not be unusual if you clicked on some great deal only to find out that it was a scam. Some advertisements might even lead to malware, which could get in without you even noticing. There is nothing useful that this adware will present you with so you can safely delete PhotoMania.

PhotoMania removal

To fully remove PhotoMania, you might need to get anti-spyware software. Those programs are designed to uninstall PhotoMania and similar infections so it should have no issues. However, manual PhotoMania removal is also fully possible. You will just have to find where the contamination is hiding.
