Remove Princess Ransomware

Malware

What is Princess?

No, Princess is not a beautiful young girl. In the world of malware, it is a serious computer infection that has been created by cyber criminals to obtain money from users. In other words, it is a ransomware infection. Princess Ransomware, despite its original name, acts like other similar threats. It enters computers without permission and then starts encrypting personal files immediately. You will see that those encrypted files have a new filename extension; however, it might use a random extension, so we cannot tell you what you will exactly see.

Princess Ransomware

Following the successful installation, Princess Ransomware creates the .html and .txt files on Desktop with the ransom note. The message in these files is the same – ransomware informs users that their files are encrypted and they can unlock them if they follow the instructions given to them. You can find those instructions by opening any of these websites with the .onion ending, e.g. onion.nu and onion.cab. These links are available inside the file you can find on Desktop. We can immediately say before opening any of these websites that Princess Ransomware wants that you transfer a certain amount of money to unlock files. You can do this if you want to, but keep in mind that the tool for decrypting files is extremely expensive, and your files might not even be unlocked for you. We hope that you will not make a payment and simply uninstall Princess Ransomware from your computer.

What does Princess Ransomware do?

Princess Ransomware enters computers to lock files and then demand a ransom. As we have managed to find, the price of the decryptor at the time of writing is 3 Bitcoins (approximately 1814 dollars); however, this sum will double after the counter expires. Cyber criminals want that you pay money as soon as possible and do not find a way to remove it or decrypt files without paying money. If you are not going to invest in the decryptor, make sure you delete Princess Ransomware immediately too because it is known that it might strike again, and it is always a bad idea to keep malware inside the system. You cannot do much to unlock your files after the Princess Ransomware removal, but we still suggest trying the free file recovery tool. If nothing works, keep those encrypted files, one day you could decrypt them free of charge.

How can I protect my PC from ransomware?

Ransomware infections usually enter computers when users open spam emails, so make sure you never open one again if you wish to ensure the safety of your system. Also, the installation of a reputable anti-malware scanner is a must. It will block the entrance for both mild and very dangerous threats.

How can I remove Princess Ransomware?

There are two ways to remove Princess Ransomware, i.e. get rid of it automatically or manually; however, we suggest immediately going for the automatic Princess Ransomware removal because it is very hard to do that and you, as we expect, are not very experienced. To delete Princess Ransomware fully, you need to have a trustworthy malware remover.
