What is Total Ad Performance virus?
Total Ad Performance is an advertising platform that exposes users to various advertisements. If you see Total Ad Performance ads in your browsers, it means that you have an adware program installed on your PC. Since there are multiple ad-supported apps that can be making use of this advertising platform, the infection is often refer to as Total Ad Performance virus. You should keep in mind, however, that it is not an actual virus, so it cannot harm your computer on its own. Still, it causes plenty of inconveniences, which is why we recommend that you terminate Total Ad Performance virus as soon as you can.
How does Total Ad Performance virus work?
Ad-supported applications spread online through free software bundles. You need to be especially careful with freeware and shareware, because more often than not, it comes with additional offers. If you fail to notice and decline these offers, the potentially unwanted apps get installed automatically. That is not something that we would recommend. You can avoid the unnecessary applications by choosing the Advanced installation mode and deselecting all optional components presented to you in the wizard. That way, you will be able to acquire only the software that you actually need.
It will not take you long to realize that your computer has adware installed on it. The program starts flooding your browsers with pop-ups, coupons, links, banners, and other ads soon after it gets access to your PC. The advertisements and occasional redirects considerably decrease your Internet browsing speed. Moreover, some of the ads are completely fake and interacting with them could cause serious trouble. You may unknowingly infect your computer with malware or potentially unwanted apps. You may also fall victim to scams that aim at money extortion. If you do not want to take any unnecessary risks, you should get rid of Total Ad Performance virus without hesitation.
