About this threat

Vader66 Search is a dubious search engine, promoted by a browser hijacker. It’s not exactly a malicious computer virus, more like a big annoyance. If it manages to get into your computer, it will make changes to your browser and set its domain as your homepage without your permission. These changes are irreversible until you delete Vader66 Search from the computer so bear that in mind if you choose to ignore the problem.

Vader66 Search

It’s not going to harm your computer so no need to worry about that but the alterations and the random redirects are irritating. The hijacker will try to redirect you because that is how it generates income. So it’s going to use you to make money but will provide nothing in return. Does not sound like a fair deal. It might also be able to expose you to malicious content, so we suggest you uninstall Vader66 Search. You should also be more vigilant when you install free software because that is how you obtained the hijacker.

Hijacker infection methods?

Hijackers are adjoined to free software as questionable items and usually install without the user even noticing. When you install free programs you obtain from the Internet, it’s important that you deselect everything that is added to it. If you are not informed about extra offers during installation, that does not mean they are not there, it simply means that they are hidden. So as to see hidden items, you need to choose Advanced or Custom settings. If you notice that there is indeed something there, uncheck the boxes of every single offer. They are hidden for a reason and you should not allow any to slip past you. Default settings are probably the reason why you are stuck having to remove Vader66 Search so best avoid them.

Why delete Vader66 Search?

Hijackers are not useful to you in any way. They make unwanted changes to your browser, set weird websites as homepages and new tabs, and force users to use questionable search engines. This particular one will set 66.com.ua as your homepage and you will not be able to change it unless you first uninstall Vader66 Search. Until then, every time you open your browser, whether it’s Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, you will be greeted by a Darth Vader background and a search engine. We advise against using it since you will be exposed to sponsored content or even malware. A lot of dubious search engines insert sponsored content into results because they aim to redirect you to those sites. That is how they make income. You could also be led to malware this way. We recommend you remove Vader66 Search.

Vader66 Search removal

When it comes to browser hijackers, you have two uninstallation methods. You can go with manual Vader66 Search removal but that means you will have to find the hijacker yourself, and that could be time-consuming. If you want the easier way, obtain anti-spyware software and have it do everything for you.
