What is Web-start.org?
Web-start.org is a browser hijacker that belongs to ClientConnect Ltd. This company is infamous for releasing troublesome applications that are not nearly as useful as they are supposed to be. Web-start.org is no different. Its main goal is to generate revenue by exposing you to different advertising content. You will get rerouted to its related pages, shown banners, coupons, pop-ups, etc. while surfing the Web, and more. In addition to this, the hijacker will also alter your browser settings, which is the first symptom that you will notice. If you wish to eliminate these unnecessary changes, you will have to terminate Web-start.org.
How does Web-start virus work?
As we have already mentioned, the main modification that is made by the hijacker upon arrival is changing your browser settings. It does not matter which web browser you use as the hijacker is compatible with all of them. The Web-start.org website will appear on your screen each time you go online. It will present you with a search box. If you make use of it, you will get results containing sponsored links. You should look out for these links, because they may not be completely reliable.
Unfortunately, the same can be stated about other advertisements that you will see while browsing the Web. As nobody checks the ads that are shown to you, some of them may turn out to be fake. You alone are responsible for clicking on the adverts, and if you click on a fake one, you may suffer unwanted consequences. Please note that you could be exposed to an online scam, falling for which may result in malware infections, data disclosure, financial losses, etc. We advise that you avoid all ads until you get rid of Web-start.org, so that you do not have to take any unnecessary risks.
