What is WinAD?

WinAD is categorized as an advertising-supported program, which means that its task is to present you with commercial content. The developers of such apps generate revenue through advertising, therefore they may promote the application in a way that makes it seem more useful than it actually is. In reality, the adware adds little to no value and, instead, causes unwelcome modifications to your browsers. There is no need to hesitate when it comes to WinAD removal as there is no other way to eliminate its ads and reset the unwanted changes that it makes.

How does WinAD work?

The distribution method that adware often uses is called bundling. It attaches itself to software that you download from third-party sites for free. This freeware comes in a bundle with potentially unwanted and ad-supported programs. In most cases, users allow these programs to get installed unwittingly. This usually happens because they do not pay attention to the installation wizard, which is a mistake. If you do not wish to deal with similar apps in the future, you should always make sure that you decline all additional offers presented to you during the installation of freeware and shareware.

The main symptom of any adware is, of course, the ads. They appear on your screen no matter which websites you open or which browser you use. They also appear in different forms: pop-ups, links, audios, videos, banners, coupons, and more. Some of them may be customized according to your online searches and other activities, because the adware tracks your cookies. Keep in mind that advertisements are not verified by anyone, so you could encounter fake ones. We urge you to avoid all ads for the time being as clicking on bogus links could result in serious issues like malware infection or money loss. To remove them completely, you will have to terminate WinAD.
