What is Yousearch.io?

Yousearch.io is a browser hijacker that can suddenly infiltrate your system without your knowledge. Usually, users get infected if they are not careful of how they install freeware as items like browser hijackers are oftentimes attached to it. This hijacker is not harmful to your computer by itself, but it can, indirectly, lead you to malware.

Browser hijackers are not malicious, however, they alter your browser’s settings and try to redirect you to sponsored websites. Hijackers do not filter through the websites it redirect you to, so it can lead you to a questionable domain and you could get infected with malware accidentally. A browser hijacker is a mere potentially unwanted program, it is rather harmless compared to serious malware. Which is why you should remove Yousearch.io.

Why should you uninstall Yousearch.io?

You could get infected if you carelessly install freeware and not pay attention to what is attached to it. If something, for example, a browser hijacker or adware, was attached, that something would install automatically. That happens if users choose Default settings during freeware installation because those settings do not allow you to deselect any added items. If you want to avoid unwanted installations, you need to opt for Advanced (Custom) settings. In them, you will be able to deselect all added items and prevent them from installing this way. If you select Advanced, you will not have to delete Yousearch.io or similar unwanted items.

Hijackers aims to generate traffic by redirecting you so it will need to make some changes. It will set Yousearch.io as your homepage and new tabs. Your preferred search engine will also be changed and it will insert sponsored links into the search results. These changes are made without your knowledge and cannot be undone unless the users first remove Yousearch.io from their computers. The search engine seems like it generates results via Yahoo but if you pay closer attention, you would notice that it says Saferbrowser Yahoo. This means that is will modify the results and insert sponsored content. You’re best to avoid all services Yousearch.io provides because while it’s not malicious by itself, it could lead you to dangerous content. If you were led to an infected website, you could end up picking up some sort of malicious virus. This hijacker does not offer any useful services, so there is not reason to keep it on your computer. You should uninstall Yousearch.io.
