It works on all major browsers including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and others. It spreads online through free third party software, which is why it is possible that you acquired it by accident. The hijacker aims at boosting web traffic.

As it has already been mentioned, the hijacker is responsible for altering your browser settings including your home page and default search provider. The website, which now appears in your browsers each time you open them, contains a search box, four search parameters, and a settings button. The so-called search engine cannot be trusted. It may not show you any results at all or show you unreliable links that could reroute you to dangerous websites. We advise against using it to search the Web.

Other symptoms of the browser hijacker include it inserting advertising data into the sites that you visit, rerouting you to its sponsors, and thus slowing down your surfing speed. You should keep in mind that the advertising content that is presented to you on other pages may be unreliable as well. The hijacker does not endorse the adverts that it shows you, so they can lead you to corrupted sites and expose you to malware or other scams. It is important that you stay away from all ads until you terminate, if you do not wish to accidentally infect your PC, waste your money, or suffer other unfavorable consequences. The next chapter explains how you to can get rid of the hijacker for good.
