Unity Web Player Removal

Browser Hijacker

What is Unity Web Player?

Unity Web Player is an adware application that is advertised as a tool that allows you to view 3D content. It’s also classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) because it can enter your computer via software bundles. You will not even notice it entering, even though you are the one giving it permission to install. Thankfully, it’s not a computer virus and it will not directly harm your computer. It will, however, expose you to loads of advertisement content and annoy you until you remove Unity Web Player. It can expose you to unsafe content, you could be led to a dangerous website and end up accidentally downloading a malicious computer virus. We strongly suggest you delete Unity Web Player as soon as possible.

Why should I delete Unity Web Player?

If you do not remember ever downloading Unity Web Player, then it must have installed on your computer along with freeware. You could get infected with loads of browser hijackers, adware and other PUPs if you carelessly install freeware. And by carelessness, we mean using Default settings during freeware installation. Those settings don’t even show you added items, let alone allow you to deselect them. Which is why you need to use Advanced or Custom settings. In those settings, you will be able to see what is attached and if need be, deselect everything. It takes a mere few seconds and it will save you a lot of time because you will not have to get rid of annoying PUPs.

It’s promoted as a tool that will give you access to 3D content. In reality it’s just a piece of adware. It will attach itself to every browser (be it Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari) and insert loads of ads in various forms. You will get pop-ups, slide-in and pop-under ads, as well as banners. You will be offered coupons, discounts and great deals. In most cases, they don’t even exist. Adware just wants to generate traffic for certain websites and what better way to do that than by tempting users with great deals. You could even get pop-ups encouraging you to update or download software. Do not pay them any attention. Only official websites should be trusted to provide you secure software and update downloads. Do not trust random pop-ups, you could end up downloading malware onto your computer. Actually, you can never be sure that any ad provided by Unity Web Player is hosted on a safe domain. We recommend you do not click on any of them if you want to keep your computer virus-free. Uninstall Unity Web Player.
