ActionClassicGames is an old browser hijacker, advertised as an extension that allows users to quickly find online games. It’s developed by Mindspark Interactive Network, a developer known for potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) like FreeShoppingTool toolbar, QuickCouponFinder Toolbar and LearnTheLyrics Toolbar. It’s not a dangerous extension in the sense that it will not harm your computer. What browser hijackers do is they change browser’s settings without authorization and try to redirect users to sponsored websites. You will be offered to use a search engine which supposedly provides superior results, but in reality it will insert sponsored links into results in order to redirect you. If you are an avid online game player, you might find this extension useful but even if it’s not malicious itself, keeping it should not be an option. It could unnecessarily expose you to danger.

Those websites are usually pretty useless and simply aiming to get revenue from traffic. We should also note that some of those redirects could lead you to dangerous content, such as scams or malware. Trusting results generated by a hijacker is not suggested for those reasons. If you search for something, there will be plenty of advertisements results, which we would not recommend clicking on. They could lead you to dangerous and malicious website, where you could be scammed or get malware. And those results will have nothing to do with what you were searching for, as they are merely aiming to make revenue.

If you care about your privacy, we suggest you read the Privacy Policy provided on the site. It explains that they collect your information, such as sites you visited, keyword and search queries, search results clicked and search history. It also records your IP address. It may also collect your personal information, but according to the policy, only when you provide it yourself. The recorded information is shared with advertisers and ad networks, business partners and authorized service providers. Essentially unfamiliar third-parties. An extension you didn’t even install knowingly should not be allowed to have any access to your information, nor should it be able to share it.

Step 1. Uninstall ActionClassicGames and related programs.

Remove ActionClassicGames from Windows 8

Right-click in the lower left corner of the screen. Once Quick Access Menu shows up, select Control Panel choose Programs and Features and select to Uninstall a software.

Delete ActionClassicGames from Windows XP

Reset your browser

1. Click the Gear icon and move to Internet Options.
2. Open the Advanced tab and press Reset.
3. Choose Delete personal settings and pick Reset one more time.
4. Tap Close and leave your browser.
5. If you were unable to reset your browsers, employ a reputable anti-malware and scan your entire computer with it.

Erase ActionClassicGames from Google Chrome

1. Access menu (top right corner of the window) and pick Settings.
2. Choose Extensions.

3. Press Reset button at the end of the page.
4. Tap Reset button one more time in the confirmation box.
5. If you cannot reset the settings, purchase a legitimate anti-malware and scan your PC.

Remove ActionClassicGames from Mozilla Firefox

1. In the top right corner of the screen, press menu and choose Add-ons (or tap Ctrl+Shift+A simultaneously).
2. Move to Extensions and Add-ons list and uninstall all suspicious and unknown entries.

Change Mozilla Firefox homepage if it was changed by virus:

1. Tap on the menu (top right corner), choose Options.
2. On General tab delete malicious URL and enter preferable website or click Restore to default.
3. Press OK to save these changes.

Reset your browser

1. Open the menu and tap Help button.
2. Select Troubleshooting Information.
3. Press Refresh Firefox.
4. In the confirmation box, click Refresh Firefox once more.
5. If you are unable to reset Mozilla Firefox, scan your entire computer with a trustworthy anti-malware.

Uninstall ActionClassicGames from Safari (Mac OS X)

1. Access the menu.
2. Pick Preferences.
3. Go to the Extensions Tab.
