What is Amarktflow

Amarktflow is a website that displays various scams that aim to trick users into providing their personal information. The scams displayed on the site may differ in how they look but they’re all essentially the same. The site will inform you that you have won a gift card (for example a $1000 Amazon gift card) and if you try to claim it, you would be asked to provide personal information. The information you would be asked to provide would include full name, home address, email address and phone number. This information is very valuable because it can be used to perform more sophisticated scams that target you specifically.

It’s very easy to recognize these scams because they offer you prizes for no reason. The general rule is that if something sounds too good to be true, it is. The same rule can be applied to internet scams as well. No one is going to randomly give you a gift card worth $1000. So whenever you come across a random site promising you a prize, close the window without interacting with the contents.

Being redirected to sites like Amarktflow usually means that either your computer is infected with some kind of threat (most likely adware) or you were browsing a high-risk website and clicked on something that triggered the redirect. In the latter case, there is no need to do anything as you were randomly redirected by the site you were visiting. However, if there is some kind of infection present on your computer, you will need to get rid of it to remove Amarktflow redirects.

What is causing redirects to sites like Amarktflow

It’s not uncommon to get redirected to questionable sites like Amarktflow when casually browsing. All it takes is visiting a certain site that has questionable ads and clicking on something. High-risk sites that could trigger these kinds of redirects often include those hosting pornography, pirated content, free streaming sites, etc. Clicking on anything on those sites can often trigger a redirect or a pop-up ad. A capable adblocker can usually stop this from happening. But it is highly recommended to have an active anti-virus program when visiting high-risk sites, just as a precaution.

It’s also possible that the redirects are caused by adware. Adware is a rather minor infection that is usually installed accidentally. By itself, adware is pretty harmless, and the danger lies in the ads that is shows. Adware, among other small infections like browser hijackers, can come attached to a free program as an extra offer. Those extra offers are optional but they are set to install alongside the freeware automatically. You need to manually deselect them to prevent their installation. But to do that, you would first need to make them visible during freeware installation, as they are initially hidden, hence why so many users end up accidentally installing them.

When installing freeware, opt for Advanced (Custom) settings instead of Default. Advanced will make all offers visible, and you will have the option to deselect them. All you really need to do is uncheck the boxes of these offers.

It should be mentioned that the majority of free programs offered for download on those free download sites will have something attached to them. So if possible, download programs from official sites instead of third-party sources. Nonetheless, wherever you download a program from, always pay attention to its installation. Otherwise, your computer will quickly fill up with junk programs that can be difficult to get rid of.

Scams shown on Amarktflow want your personal information

Like we said above, sites like Amarktflow display scams, though their appearance may change after some time. A common scam offers you an Amazon gift card worth $1000 or some kind of expensive tech gadget such as an iPhone. Big names like Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, eBay, etc., are usually used in these scams as many users trust these companies.

If you engage with the scam that promises you some kind of prize, you will be asked to provide your personal information, supposedly to claim your prize. Most commonly, the information requested includes full name, phone number, email address, and home address. In some cases, you may even be asked to pay some amount of money, supposedly for shipping. As we said before, providing such sensitive information to scammers can be dangerous because they will either sell it or use it to do more elaborate scams. You may start receiving weird phone calls and emails, and cyber crooks may target you specifically. The data can also be sold on hacker forums, as part of a bigger database. Though whether it’s used by the cyber crooks themselves or sold on hacker forums, the data would likely be used for the same purpose, aka to further scam you.

For future reference know that every single one of these “You have won” or “You have a chance of winning” messages you come across when browsing are scams. Companies like Amazon, Google, etc., do not host giveaways. And if they were to do one, it would be announced via official sources like their social media profiles, not random pop-ups on questionable sites.

Amarktflow removal

If you were randomly redirected when browsing, you don’t need to do anything as the site you were on is likely at fault. However, if you notice that you are constantly redirected to Amarktflow or it happens when you are on completely safe sites, your computer is likely infected with adware, which you would need to get rid of if you wanted to delete Amarktflow redirects for good. The easiest way to do that would be to use anti-virus software, as it would take care of everything. Adware can be a persistent infection and difficult to get rid of, hence why manual Amarktflow removal may be troublesome.

Once you remove Amarktflow adware, your browsing should go back to normal, meaning you shouldn’t get redirected to scams.

Quick Menu

Step 1. Uninstall Amarktflow and related programs.

Remove Amarktflow from Windows 8

Right-click in the lower left corner of the screen. Once Quick Access Menu shows up, select Control Panel choose Programs and Features and select to Uninstall a software.

Uninstall Amarktflow from Windows 7

Click Start → Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall a program.

Delete Amarktflow from Windows XP

Click Start → Settings → Control Panel. Locate and click → Add or Remove Programs.

Remove Amarktflow from Mac OS X

Click Go button at the top left of the screen and select Applications. Select applications folder and look for Amarktflow or any other suspicious software. Now right click on every of such entries and select Move to Trash, then right click the Trash icon and select Empty Trash.

Step 2. Delete Amarktflow from your browsers

• Internet Explorer
• Chrome
• Firefox
• Safari

Terminate the unwanted extensions from Internet Explorer

1. Tap the Gear icon and go to Manage Add-ons.
2. Pick Toolbars and Extensions and eliminate all suspicious entries (other than Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Oracle or Adobe)
3. Leave the window.

Change Internet Explorer homepage if it was changed by virus:

1. Tap the gear icon (menu) on the top right corner of your browser and click Internet Options.
2. In General Tab remove malicious URL and enter preferable domain name. Press Apply to save changes.

Reset your browser

1. Click the Gear icon and move to Internet Options.
2. Open the Advanced tab and press Reset.
3. Choose Delete personal settings and pick Reset one more time.
4. Tap Close and leave your browser.
5. If you were unable to reset your browsers, employ a reputable anti-malware and scan your entire computer with it.

Erase Amarktflow from Google Chrome

1. Access menu (top right corner of the window) and pick Settings.
2. Choose Extensions.
3. Eliminate the suspicious extensions from the list by clicking the Trash bin next to them.
4. If you are unsure which extensions to remove, you can disable them temporarily.

Reset Google Chrome homepage and default search engine if it was hijacker by virus

1. Press on menu icon and click Settings.
2. Look for the “Open a specific page” or “Set Pages” under “On start up” option and click on Set pages.
3. In another window remove malicious search sites and enter the one that you want to use as your homepage.
4. Under the Search section choose Manage Search engines. When in Search Engines..., remove malicious search websites. You should leave only Google or your preferred search name.
   

Reset your browser

1. If the browser still does not work the way you prefer, you can reset its settings.
2. Open menu and navigate to Settings.
3. Press Reset button at the end of the page.
4. Tap Reset button one more time in the confirmation box.
5. If you cannot reset the settings, purchase a legitimate anti-malware and scan your PC.

Remove Amarktflow from Mozilla Firefox

1. In the top right corner of the screen, press menu and choose Add-ons (or tap Ctrl+Shift+A simultaneously).
2. Move to Extensions and Add-ons list and uninstall all suspicious and unknown entries.

Change Mozilla Firefox homepage if it was changed by virus:

1. Tap on the menu (top right corner), choose Options.
2. On General tab delete malicious URL and enter preferable website or click Restore to default.
3. Press OK to save these changes.

Reset your browser

1. Open the menu and tap Help button.
2. Select Troubleshooting Information.
3. Press Refresh Firefox.
4. In the confirmation box, click Refresh Firefox once more.
5. If you are unable to reset Mozilla Firefox, scan your entire computer with a trustworthy anti-malware.

Uninstall Amarktflow from Safari (Mac OS X)

1. Access the menu.
2. Pick Preferences.
3. Go to the Extensions Tab.
4. Tap the Uninstall button next to the undesirable Amarktflow and get rid of all the other unknown entries as well. If you are unsure whether the extension is reliable or not, simply uncheck the Enable box in order to disable it temporarily.
5. Restart Safari.

Reset your browser

1. Tap the menu icon and choose Reset Safari.
2. Pick the options which you want to reset (often all of them are preselected) and press Reset.
3. If you cannot reset the browser, scan your whole PC with an authentic malware removal software.
